Each student begins Story Cove Intervention with a formative pre-assessment of 40 questions that evaluate the student's strengths and weaknesses on the essential reading skills (phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension). The data collected from the pre-assessment is used to create a Student Profile and Individual Student Plan (ISP) for each student. The platform also provides a proficiency report that summaries each student’s status by objective.
All of the student's decisions, choices and selections are tracked and recorded during the practice assignments. As a result, teachers or parents can review each student's performance and then reinforce the achievements or provide more guidance when students need additional support.
The Student Profile provides specific information about the student's strengths and weaknesses by skill set. It is correlated to state reading standards and the Common Core Standards (CCS) for K-3rd Grade. The data in this report is then used to compile a prescription of the critical skills that the student will be working on in each session.
The Individual Student Plan(ISP) is the road map for the assignments that each student will be working on throughout the program. The initial plan is based on the results of the pre-assessment and it is updated after each session as the student progresses through the program.
The ISP contains:
The Student Proficiency Report is a dynamic status report that provides specific information about how a student is performing for each objective and standard within the core skillsets. It includes the aggregate score for each objective, the results of the most recent assignment for that objective and whether a student is considered proficient.
